Headmaster's Speech at Opening Ceremony January 2007

Honourable Sponsors, Pat and Angelika
Distinguished Parents
Regional Education Officers
All Protocol Here Present
Ladies and Gentlemen

I have the sincere honour and priviledge to welcome you to this august gathering most especially our dearest friends Pat and Angelika from UK.

Bintang Bolong Nursery School is a local nursery established in order to help needy kids gain access to early education, shaping and moulding them to become responsible citizens of our various communities, country and the world at large.

Bringing education to these innocent and needy kids is an arduous task which has been made easy with the support and encouragement from all the aforementioned persons and personalities in divers ways. I am pleased to inform you that the assignment is getting easier and easier, day by day, month by month. Our school commenced on the 6th October 1997 with only sixteen (16) children. A very difficult and boring situation it was at the time.

With the resolve, commitment and stedfastness we have begun to win over many parents, sympathisers and supporters that have come to us with their kids and assisted in various way.

Today with the help of our UK friends Pat and Angelika we have been able to develop the school. A great change from our early days it has given way to a much more condusive condition of learning, hence a rapid expansion of our school.

Currently we have over two hundred kids registered with us. This is no mean feat. A tremendous achievement to say the least. This could not have been possible without the unwaivering assistance from our sponsors. They are taking care of more than thirty kids in the school. Please give Pat and Angelika a rousing applause.

Dessppite all we are yet to overcome some of the following constraints and need your assisstance
1 Monthly staff allowance (ie salaries) this is open to discussion.
2 Training of our teaching staff at the college.
3 Need to expand the classroom to accommodate more of the kids - we want to erect a storey building.
4 Fencing of the school. For the purposes of security.
5 Provision of more stationery and text books
6 More furniture for staff and children.

It is my hope that you would endeavour to do your best for our school.

May Allah reward you all particularly Pat and Angelika for your kind and continued support.
