Building is nearly complete!

Headmaster standing outside school. Roof is on and walls have now been plastered.

The money raised this year meant that the school building was almost completed – just door and window grilles remained to be fitted, together with painting and other minor works.

At last the children have a dedicated space in which to learn. There was also sufficient funds to stock and open the shop, which will generate a regular income to help towards any maintenance costs in the future.

Unfortunately, bureaucracy is still holding up the connection to mains water and electricity, but it will happen one day, “inshallah”, as they say in The Gambia. Everyone is very happy and grateful for the support that they have been given by so many people in the UK (and of course, further afield!)

Stroud & District Athletic Club donated money to purchase athletic/sports equipment for the school.
